In their opening 2024 T20 World Cup match, India decisively defeated Ireland at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium. Opting to bowl first, Rohit Sharma’s men dominated from the start, exploiting the conditions to put Ireland under immense pressure.

Ireland’s batting lineup struggled, with Gareth Delaney being the only player to score over 20 runs. Only four Irish batsmen managed to reach double figures.

Jasprit Bumrah was outstanding, conceding just 6 runs in his 3-over spell and taking two wickets. Hardik Pandya emerged as the standout bowler with figures of 3-27 from his 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh also impressed with an economy rate of 8.75, claiming 2 wickets, and helping to restrict Ireland to a mere 96 runs in 16 overs.
